Safety at S.E.A.
Safety is at the core of all our S.E.A. programs. We meet and exceed all Coast Guard Safety requirements for passenger carrying vessels.
This checklist is our safety standard at S.E.A. programs.
Our vessels and their equipment are certified by Transport Canada and hold current Steamship Inspection Certificates. (SIC)
Our captains hold current masters licenses of 60 Tons and over.
A protection and indemnity insurance policy of ten million dollars includes the Board of Education and its Trusties employees and students.
An adult resource person, either teacher or parent, nominated by the school will be provided accommodation on each vessel free of charge.
A trip plan and list of all on board is filed with Canadian Coast Guard before departure.
The duration of daily vessel movements will be planned to ensure that any portion of the program will not have to meet deadlines which would require our vessels to proceed in adverse weather conditions.
